The quiz

The Vibe Check analyzes public GitHub profiles and generates a score, verdict, and AI-generated roast. By using it you agree that:

  • Your result (score, verdict, roast) will be stored and displayed on a public leaderboard
  • Your public GitHub data will be sent to a third-party AI (DeepSeek) to generate a personalized roast
  • Scores are entertainment, not professional assessments. Don't put this on your resume
  • AI-generated roasts are satire. They're meant to be funny, not factual

Quizzing other people

You can enter any public GitHub username — it doesn't have to be yours. This means someone else's profile might end up on the leaderboard without their knowledge. If you're the account owner and want your result removed, email privacy@needavibecoder.com

Ship or Shit

Ship or Shit fetches the public content of any URL you submit and scores it across 8 categories with an AI-generated roast and verdict. By using it you agree that:

  • The URL, domain, scores, roast, and verdict will be stored and displayed on a public leaderboard
  • Page content will be sent to a third-party AI (DeepSeek) to generate the roast and scores
  • You can submit any public URL — it doesn't have to be yours. If your site shows up and you're the owner, email privacy@needavibecoder.com for removal
  • Don't submit URLs behind login walls, paywalls, or anything you're not authorized to share. If we can't reach it as a public visitor, it shouldn't go in
  • Scores are entertainment, not professional evaluations. A low score is not a market verdict

AI-generated content

Roasts and descriptions are generated by AI. They're jokes — not endorsements, evaluations, or statements of fact. We don't review every roast before it's shown. If a generated roast crosses a line, let us know and we'll remove it

The platform

  • needavibecoder.com is provided as-is. Things might break. We'll fix them when we notice
  • Don't abuse the quiz (mass scanning, scraping, automated submissions). We'll rate-limit or block you
  • Don't use the platform for harassment. Quizzing someone to publicly mock them is not the vibe

Accounts & authentication

Creating an account (via Clerk) lets you post developer profiles, company listings, and jobs. By creating an account you agree that:

  • You're responsible for the accuracy of your profile and listings
  • You won't impersonate others or create fake company profiles
  • We can remove accounts or listings that violate these terms

Developer dashboard

The developer dashboard lets you build your profile by linking sources (GitHub, LinkedIn, personal website, portfolio links), uploading a CV, adding projects, and messaging companies. By using it you agree that:

  • You only link sources and upload CVs that belong to you, or that you have permission to use
  • We fetch and process the linked URLs and your CV through third-party AI providers to extract skills, experience, and a profile summary — output is auto-generated and may contain errors. Review and edit before publishing
  • Your dashboard profile, projects, and skills become publicly visible once published, including to companies browsing the platform
  • Messages you send to companies (and vice versa) are stored on our servers so both parties can read them. Don't send anything you wouldn't want logged
  • Don't upload malware, illegal content, or anything you don't own the rights to

Account deletion

You can delete your account at any time. When you do, all your data is permanently erased — developer profile, company profile, job postings, and applications. This is automatic and irreversible. See our Privacy Policy for details

Job board & listings

Job postings are created by users. We don't verify companies, salaries, or claims made in listings. Do your own due diligence before applying or hiring

Limitation of liability

We're not responsible for hurt feelings from roasts, missed job opportunities from low scores, or existential crises triggered by learning your vibe score is 12. Use the site at your own risk

Changes

We can update these terms. Continued use means you accept the updates. Last updated: April 6, 2026
